The Dashboard Melted, but we Still have the Radio

What happens to us. What happens to those days where everything is going perfect and or if we're lucky it rides on for several days. You think to yourself, "how the heck do I keep this going?" Work seems doable, people are friendlier, you get that longer than usual stare from the opposite sex more often. Everything just seems great. And then you may tell yourself, "don't screw this up." It seems like when that happens, it's all over.
This past week was like that for me. I came off a bad week (illness and no strength to do anything), and the first three days could not have gone much better. My classes were attentive, I just started on Spanish 2 and then this happened.......I get an email from Kayak saying that the price of a plane ticket to Nicaragua had dropped nearly $200. It was the cherry on top to tat Monday. I subsequently rode the hgh for three days....each with a little less stoke. I had trouble finding what it was that got me so upbeat and positive, but I never did. I started waking up a little later in the morning which made me rush through things, which equals a little more stress, which equals a little more frustration and before I knew it, I was a little down.
I searched further to find what exactly it was that got me this way. I haven't come to a complete conclusion yet but here is the first draft. I feel like a major aspect of riding high comes down to discipline and simplicity. When we're feeling good we tend to over do it. Let things creep in that we normally would keep out or away from (insert your own creeper; sin, food, one to many late nights etc.). This gets us off our game. Puts us in rough waters if you will. But if we somehow keep our lives simple, and by simple I mean organized and with direction then we are less likely to be shaken. Basically we're not in a low point for an extended period. Now this isn't to say that life has to be kept rigid and boring, it just means keep it real. If you have a direction or a destination then you'll be fine. That destination may be where ever or nowhere. But as long as it's somewhere (nowhere is somewhere) and you stay on the path, then you;ll know that yo're in the right place.
